Umweltsimulation – EN

ENVIRONMENTAL SIMULATION

Environmental simulation covers a wide range of procedures designed to assess the durability and resilience of plastics and final products under defined environmental conditions. The objective: ensure that your materials remain functionally stable and compliant even under stress, exposure, and aging.

As a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, we provide comprehensive environmental simulation services. We verify compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards and determine the real-world performance of your materials. We perform tests on raw materials, molded specimens, and mechanically extracted component samples. If required, we can mold test specimens from your granulate.

Our environmental simulation services include:

  • Chemical resistance
  • Climatic storage (cyclic testing)
  • Constant-condensation climate
  • Lightfastness
  • Sunlight simulation
  • Heat-light aging

Environmental Simulation of Plastics

Plastics are deployed across multiple high-demand sectors — automotive, construction, medical technology, and beyond. To ensure long-term performance, we test resistance under realistic operational and environmental conditions. These procedures safeguard product longevity and structural integrity.

We support the following standardized methods and additional procedures:

  • BMW AA-0213: Constant condensation climate testing
  • BMW PR 303.4: Climate cycling for interior components
  • BMW PR 303.5: Climate cycling for interior components
  • BMW PR 303.6: Climate cycling for interior components
  • DIN 75220: Ageing of automotive components in solar simulation units
  • DIN EN ISO 105-B05: Tests for colour fastness – Part B05: Detection and assessment of photochromism
  • DIN EN ISO 105-B06: Tests for colour fastness – Part B06: Colour fastness and ageing to artificial light at high temperatures: Xenon arc fading lamp test
  • DIN EN ISO 4892-2: Methods of exposure to laboratory light sources – Part 2: Xenon-arc lamps
  • VW PV 1200: Testing the Environmental Cycle Resistance (80 °C/-40 °C)
  • VW PV 1303: Xenon Arc Light Aging of Vehicle Interior Parts
  • VW PV 1306: Xenon Arc Light Aging to Determine Tack on PP Plastics
  • VW PV 2005: Environmental Cycle Resistance Testing of Special Parts, New Developments, and Solutions
  • VW PV 3929: Weathering in Dry, Hot Climate (Exterior)
  • VW PV 3930: Weathering in Humid, Hot Climate (Exterior)
